Just as stunning as in a pair, the single lion makes timeless St. Augustine decor for your home, or a treasured farewell gift to another St. Augustine lover.

the second one later. These lions are hand-cast in small batches.
Each batch comes in a slightly different shade of white.
I cannot guarantee you’ll get a perfect match.

Your little lion’s charming size will grace your mantel,
coffee table or bookshelf.
They’re hand cast then hand sculpted by Old
World artisans to give you eye-catching decor.

Made of the highest quality genuine Carrara marble from Carrara, Italy, same as the lions on the bridge, giving you timeless art pieces for your home.

Michelangelo used Carrara marble for many of his masterpieces,
including the beautiful Pieta and the statue of David.

When you hold your little lion, you will not just be holding a replica, but a piece of art and ancient history as unique as the lions on the Bridge.
HEIRLOOM QUALITY Your little lion will be as beautiful decades from now
as the day it arrives at your door.

You will find that most statuettes today are made with resin or a composition of resin and some other material. This is why they yellow with age and exposure to daylight.

The St. Augustine lion replicas are special in every way. They are made of 90% genuine Carrara marble from Carrara, Italy, the same marble the originals boast of. They contain zero resin, plastic or other inexpensive binders. The lions are crafted by Old World artisans using a decades-old method with high quality materials. Your lions will retain their majestic white marble look and feel to be cherished for generations.

If you want something with an inexpensive binder that will yellow, or some fad you'll tire of with time, you'll need to look elsewhere. If you want high quality art in your home that you can treasure always, welcome to our shop. You've found the right place.

The replicas are made by artisans in Staffordshire, England who practice a difficult and dying art of hand-casting and sculpting. They supply life size statues and small statuettes, like these lions, to some of the most prestigious European galleries and art museums.

It is no wonder then that each set of lions are hand-cast with utmost attention to detail.

Care Instructions - No Special Care Needed

Jeff and Gail Kraker Owners of St. Augustine Loves Lions

Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Gail Kraker. I moved to St. Augustine in 2011 with my hubby, Jeff, and our three coconut retrievers.

Like many others, I fell in love with the lions on the bridge. Where else in the New World do we see century old, hand sculpted Carrara marble statues of anything, much less beautiful lions?

I spent a year searching for small replicas of the lions for our home and got only disappointment. After three more years of wondering why, and thinking people who love St. Augustine deserve better, I decided to take matters into my own hands.

I made it my mission to bring the first and only marble replicas of the lions on the bridge, Faithful & Firm, to all who want replicas of the city’s icons in their own homes.

It took a full year and was no easy task. I wanted the statuettes to be made of Carrara marble, just like the lions on the bridge.

I looked into statue makers for months and was unhappy with the quality of what I saw. I gave up out of frustration. Then one day, on a lark, I made just one more search. To my surprise, I came up with the perfect Old World statue makers in Staffordshire, England. They make Carrara marble life size statues as well as tiny statuettes, like these lions, for some of the most prestigious galleries and art museums in Europe. I believe them to be the best marble statue makers on earth.

I worked with the statue makers for eight grueling months to make sure the statuettes are true replicas of the lions on the bridge, down to having the same inscription along their sides.

It took three time-consuming iterations for the artisans to make the lions just the way l knew you would want them.

It took another two months to get the first order from the statue makers. You see, the artisans are highly sought after and it takes time for them to get to the next order. Each set of lions comes from a single set of molds and only one set of lions can be cast each day.

The artisans then do the fine hand-sculpted details on the lions.

Two months after the first order arrived, the photos and website were completed and I was ready to bring you the Ancient City icons you’ve been searching for.

Jeff helps out by being supportive and by taking the packages with the lions in them to the Post Office. He also makes sure I pack them properly. 😉 🦁🦁

I hope you’ll love the little lions as much as I do. They bring joy to our home and they've become almost human to me.
