The second annual Haunted Masquerade Art Show will be held October 24 at DOS Coffee and Wine, San Marco Ave in St. Augustine. The show will run from 8 to 11:30 P.M.
Revelers are requested to wear masquerade masks while browsing the artwork of artists. Featured will be the works of Jessica Lyle, Dana Blanton, Faith Foster, Krystle Medeiros, Taylor Leigh and Dan Florez.
Artists are accepted into the art show on a first come first served basis after submitting an application.
There will be great music and performances. Shea Birney is playing the show and there will be a guest performance from the Blue Lotus Bellydance Group. Heather's Living Art will be there with a live painted model.
In an interview by Kara Pound in St. Augustine Record's Compass, Ashlee Raven Lockhard, a co-founder of the event, said "So much talent comes from these shows it's overwhelming, the community participation and support has been growing with each show."
The entrance fee is $10 at the door. There will be a small tasting at the event.
Speaking of art, I have a weakness for art depicting scenes of Central Florida. As part of the visiting artist series, Florida School of Arts, will present a gallery exhibition for Central Florida artist Audrey Phillips.
The exhibit will open with a reception at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Fine Arts Gallery located on St. Johns River State College's Palatka Campus, 5001 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka.
Based on the image I'm now looking at in the Record's Compass of her piece "Remembrance of a Place Eternal" Audrey's work is beautiful and ethereal. The artist does abstract acrylic and mixed-media paintings, which are inspired by her childhood experiences.
Weightless Drifting is the title of the Phillips exhibition.
